Aeration rate

Description: The total airflow added to an aeration tank, in litres, during a 1 minute period.
Data source: Simulated data.

An aeration tank uses small air bubbles to keep solid particles in suspension. Excessive foaming and loss of valuable solid product occurs if too much air is blown into the tank. If too little air is blown into the tank the particles sink and drop out of suspension. Particles in a foam suspension in a stirred tank
